Eliza (she/her) is a film photographer based in Melbourne/Naarm, working across medium and small format film. Shooting on film since high school, her practice is centred around observation, using the camera as a way of slowing down and engaging more deeply with the world around her. Through film photography, she is drawn to fleeting shifts in light, atmosphere, weather, and texture, capturing quiet moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Alongside her corporate career, photography remains an enduring personal practice grounded in patience and presence. Her work often explores the emotional and psychological qualities of landscape, and the ways light can shape memory, feeling, and connection to place.

This work explores a fleeting moment where light transforms the emotional atmosphere of a place. Shot on film, the image captures a dollhouse consumed by fire, moving between stillness, destruction, and reflection.
Through film photography, I’m interested in observing the world with greater slowness and attention, using light, texture, and imperfection to hold onto moments that feel both intimate and transient. The work considers the psychological weight that objects and atmosphere can carry.
