Photo Studio Hire

Our Docklands location is easy to get to from any side of Melbourne.
You can hire our whole studio for big shoots, or half the space for smaller ones. Hire comes with access to a shared green room, which includes change areas, lounge chairs, a kitchen and toilet.
Studio hire includes access to a communal kit full of useful photography equipment. If you need some lighting gear we’ve got you covered too, with LED and flash kits available to add to your hire.

Half Studio - Studio A.
Studio A features concrete floors and amazing natural light. The space is perfect or large scale shoots, including fashion, editorial and portraiture. The space has block-out curtains, and can be made semi-dark.

Comes with access to our communal equipment as well as a 2.4m scrim, boom with wheels and studio/salon camera stand.
Half Studio - Studio B.
This smaller space features wooden floorboard and is perfect for headshots, still lifes and shooting single subjects.

Recommended Group Size: 2-3 people
Comes with access to our communal equipment.
Full Studio - Studio A + B.
Want the whole place to yourself? Book both our studios and stretch out, great for large and complex shoots.

Green Room
Out the back of our studio is our communal green room, along with changing areas for each studio, a kitchen and toilet.
The change rooms get great, diffused natural light making it a perfect place to get ready for your shoot or chill out during a break.
Getting here.
The studio is located on the corner of The District Docklands shopping precinct. There is heaps of parking, street access, public transport and places to eat.
Dropping off:
There are several 15 minute parks along Docklands Drive within 50m of our door
Parking:
Paid street parking is easy to get and ranges between 2-4 hours
Long term parking for around $15 is available at The District Docklands carparks
Public Transport
The 86, 70 and 35 trams stop right outside out door
Our Space.
Great Space is a multi-use creative space, including studios, a gallery and co-working space. We have regular exhibitions open to the public, and there may be a show on during your hire.
Non-members have access to their hired studio, as well as the ‘green room’, which includes a shared lounge and the change rooms. If you are interested in our other facilities, consider becoming a member!

Studio access starts when your booking starts. We help keep out prices down by being strict on timekeeping, so keep this in mind when choosing a shoot duration!

In most cases we are more than happy to give extend your booking as extra hire time, charged in one hour blocks. If there is someone booked after you, we’ll let you know so you can keep this in mind.

Our studio has a kitchen and toilet and well as lounge area in the green room. There are plenty of places to sit and we can accommodate large groups.

Yes! With a couple of conditions.
If you want to use a smoke machine, you’ll need to book Studio A, as well as have the air conditioning running so that the smoke levels don’t get too insane. You’ll also need to give us at least 48 hours notice so we can get the alarm system deactivated.

Yes, on a case by case basis. Check with us first before bringing any animals to the studio.
You’ll be responsible for your animals during the hire and must ensure they don’t disturb other users of the space. You’ll also need to book both our studio spaces so that curious critters won’t risk disturbing others using the space.

Yes! But be mindful of the fact that you may have people using the studio next door, and that the spaces (while private) are separated by curtains.
