This painting depicts my first time going the iconic Paris Cat jazz club in Melbourne. I wanted to capture the warmth of the cozy and intimate interior space. I wanted to recreate the captivating lighting and ambience of the whole experience. It was one of my favourite memories from last year. And so, it was my goal to paint how it felt and retain that moment in time and all the emotions tied to it forever by memorialising it into a painting. It encapsulates not just the physical likeness of the jazz club, but the emotions and atmosphere of the place which meant so much to me at the time.
