Rebecca Campbell is a Bellarine Peninsula artist creating illuminated sculptural works from reclaimed sea glass collected along local coastlines. Using a stained glass technique adapted for irregular ocean-worn fragments, she transforms discarded materials into atmospheric forms that explore light as both a physical material and an emotional presence.
Her practice investigates the relationship between illumination, shadow, reflection and memory, with each work revealing the colour, texture and histories embedded within the glass. Through glowing spherical forms and shifting atmospheric effects, Campbell creates immersive objects that extend beyond function, inviting stillness, contemplation and a heightened awareness of space.
Inspired by the ocean, celestial forms and the changing qualities of light, her work explores how traces of place and experience can remain suspended within illuminated material.

These illuminated sculptures explore light as both a physical material and an emotional presence. Created from reclaimed sea glass collected along local coastlines, each spherical form transforms discarded fragments into quiet atmospheric objects that emit warmth, glow and subtle traces of shadow into the surrounding space.
Rather than functioning purely as lighting, the works investigate the relationship between illumination, reflection and memory. Light passes through weathered glass surfaces revealing colour, texture and histories embedded within the material. Depending on surrounding light conditions, the sculptures shift between object and atmosphere, with shadow and projection becoming more or less visible within the space.
Presented together, Solar, Portal and Bloom respond to the theme Afterglow through warmth, atmosphere and the lingering presence of light within darkness. The works invite moments of stillness and reflection, exploring how traces of place, time and experience can remain suspended within illuminated form.
