Cyanotype Social Club

Once a month we open up our studio to get crafty with cyanotypes!

The Cyanotype Social Club is a casual art class, held on a Tuesday evening, where you can drop in and make cyanotype prints to your hearts content.

Paper and chemistry is provided, along with access to our UV lightbox and darkroom. You can explore our selection of plants and objects to make prints with, or bring along your own.

Each month has a informal topic of discussion where attendees will have the chance to learn a little more about cyanotypes, but the session is focused more on making rather than theory.

And if you are out of the loop, the cyanotype is one of the original photographic processes, famous for its versatility, accessibility and vibrant blue colour. Invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel and colloquially known as the ‘blueprint’ in architectural circles, they are a great introduction to alternative photographic processes.
