Cindy Cal is a Uruguayan artist whose practice explores identity, nature, and cultural exchange through painting. She began studying Fine Arts at Casa de la Cultura in Uruguay before continuing her artistic education in China, where she studied Chinese language, calligraphy, and traditional painting at Beijing Language and Culture University.
In 2025, she graduated in Oil Painting from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing. Her work combines influences from both Western and Eastern artistic traditions, often focusing on emotion, symbolism, and the relationship between human identity and nature.
Cindy has exhibited internationally, including at the Embassy of Uruguay in China, the CAFA Art Museum, and exhibitions in Beijing, Guangzhou, Singapore, and Jiangxi Province. Her long-term project Fiori 366 — created by painting one flower each day during a leap year — reflects her interest in time, intimacy, and observation through daily practice.

This painting explores the flower as a vessel of movement, memory, and emotional light.
Through blurred forms and flowing colour transitions, the work evokes the sensation of witnessing nature in motion — as if the image were dissolving between presence and disappearance. Inspired by the way flowers seem to absorb and transmit light, the painting approaches luminosity not only as a visual phenomenon, but as an emotional and atmospheric experience.
In relation to Afterglow, the work reflects on what remains after a moment fades: warmth, vibration, colour, and the lingering emotional trace of an encounter with nature.
