At 9 years old, I was gifted my first ever camera. A 110 film camera.
Today, I still use the same 35mm manual SLR camera I bought as a teenager.
After graduating with a Diploma of Visual Arts from RMIT, I worked as a photographic printer. During this time I witnessed digital beginning to take over film and saw how pixels were replacing the grain of a negative.
Today, I continue experimenting with 35mm film in a digital world.

Light has many qualities to it that we are still trying to understand today, from a spiritual level to the level of quantum physics.
Consciousness, existence, space, time and the unknown are themes I continue to work on by experimenting with light and dark, positive and negative space and how they all work together.
I capture light on 35mm slide film on an old, sentimental analogue camera. I cut and collage the negatives and project them again, adding new light. From here, with regard to this series, each composition has either been reprinted from scans of the collaged slides or recaptured digitally.
I experiment with exposure times and composition as I try to understand all that cannot be seen with my own eye, but can be captured by light, through the lens of a camera.
