A photographic negative is the physical presence of the interaction between light and the photographic emulsion. Both the planned photograph carefully constructed through the lens and the unplanned light leakage into the camera are the traces of light that was. Taken at Woolamai and Pyramid Rock on Millowl (Phillip Island), these light leak photographs remind us that light can leave traces even when we think it is absent.
